The North East Sports Quiz League holds a
number of competitions which take place outside of the traditional league
quiz.

The KO Cup:-
The Knockout Cup is a handicap competition, open to all the teams in the League, and which is held on Finals Night. The quiz will be a table quiz. The handicaps and format will be arranged by the Committee. Over the last few years the quiz has been set by Chris Bell, of the Woking Sports Quiz League, who won the BBC Sport Mastermind series in 2008.

Challenge Cup:-
The format of the Challenge Cup has been changed following the 2011 AGM.
Starting with the 2012 competition, the three winners of the Divisional Handicap Leagues will qualify for the Semi Finals, along with the previous years winners. As Wolsington Hotel won the 2011 event, they will qualify for the 2012 semi finals.
In the event of the previous years winners winning their own Divisional Handicap League then the runners up in that Handicap Division will qualify for the semi final.
The 2 Semi Finals, and the Final are all played on one night the end of the League season.

Pairs and Singles:-
The Open Pairs & Open Singles competitions are open to players from all divisions. In addition, Pairs & Singles specifically for B & C Division are also held.
A table quiz is set and the four highest scoring Pairs/Singles qualify for the Semi Finals.
For the Semi Finals and the subsequent Finals, the quizzes are on a head to head basis and include 'bell and buzzer' rounds.
